PARASITES
Parasites: Parasites are opportunistic critters. Any flaw or weakness in our defense systems is an open invitation to invasion. The best line of defense against parasitic infection is a strong, healthy immune system. But our immune systems have taken a beating in the past few decades. A number of seemingly unrelated factors unique to the late twentieth century have contributed to the unrestrained parasite epidemic. Some of these factors include:
Since many of these infections are often non-specific and mimic other, more recognizable diseases, the condition is then misdiagnosed and health problems persist for months and sometimes even years before the real culprit is identified. Parasites create damage to the host's body in many ways including: They destroy cells in the body faster than cells can be regenerated, thereby creating an imbalance that results in ulceration, perforation, or anemia. They produce toxic substances that are harmful to the body. They irritate the tissues of the body, inducing an inflammatory reaction on the part of the host. They may invade the body by penetrating the skin, producing dermatitis. The size and/or weight of the parasitic cysts produces pressure effects on the organs. Their presence depresses the immune system functioning while activating immune response which can eventually lead to immune system exhaustion. The best treatment protocol* for the most commonly occurring intestinal parasites - roundworms, pinworms, and tapeworms - entails the following five steps, which should be carried out in conjunction with an experienced health-care practitioner who can guide you through the recovery process: Cleansing the intestinal tract and replenish with pro-biotics. PRIMAL DEFENSE Modifying the diet. Administering effective substances to eliminate the parasites. PRIMAL DEFENSE Recolonizing the gastrointestinal tract with friendly bacteria. PRIMAL DEFENSE * Guess What Came to Dinner (Pg. 93) - Ann Louise Gittleman FUNGAL DEFENSE WHY CLEANSE THE DIGESTIVE TRACT? When our body becomes congested and overloaded with toxins, we become depleted, sluggish and more susceptible to disease. Our absorption and assimilation of nutrients also becomes compromised. When symptoms of disease manifest, we need to do more than just treat the symptoms. Instead we must deal with the causes of the imbalance. Cleansing helps to restore balance and healing to our body, mind and emotions. The cleanse philosophy is based on detoxifying and rebuilding our body by: Removing toxic materials that cause congestion and disease through a cleanse program See: Primal Defense

See: NSC-24 RM-10 Nutritionally support well-being and an extended life by potentiating the immune response to successfully fight back against the attack of a multitude of health invaders assaulting our systems. See: NSC-24 Sea Silver NONI Juice Balancing the delicate pH level of the body through a balanced diet, organic nutrients and beneficial probiotics. See: Fruits of Life Perfect Food Sea Silver NONI Juice The intestinal cleansing process can be aided through the use of one or more of the following natural substances; rice bran fiber, alfalfa leaves, butternut root bark, fennel seed, licorice root, Irish moss, anise seed, peppermint leaves, cranberry, psyllium seed husk fiber, flaxseed fiber, apple or citrus or pectin, and buckthorn bark. These substances act like a broom and help to sweep the debris out of the digestive tract. (note: this cleansing would not be appropriate for the more exotic blood-and tissue-invasive parasites, which cause malaria, trichomonasis, toxoplasmosis, schistosominasis, filariasis, elephantiasis, and leishmaniasis.) Irritable Bowel Syndrome: IBS is a very common bowel disorder affecting people of all ages and backgrounds, including children. (Don't be too quick to dismiss complaints of stomach pain by your children - even if they don't like school). IBS is characterized by some combination of abdominal pain, altered bowel function (either constipation, diarrhea or alternating), hyper secretion of colonic mucous, and symptoms of indigestion (bloating, flatulence and nausea). The symptoms may range from occasionally bothersome to disabling, causing sufferers to always have to have a bathroom location on their minds. SEE: FUNGAL DEFENSE The symptoms of IBS can be both uncomfortable and distressing. There are conditions which may mimic IBS and these include the excessive consumption of tea, coffee, carbonated beverages, and simple sugars, and health conditions; infectious diarhhea from micro-organisms (such as giardia parasites), inflammatory bowel disease (a much more serious disorder than IBS) (Inflammatory Bowel Disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract that manifests as Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn Disease) and lactose intolerance, laxative abuse, intestinal candidiasis, disturbed bacterial flora (dysbiosis), malabsorption diseases such as pancreatic insufficiency and celiac/sprue, metabolic disorders such as adrenal insufficiency, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism, mechanical causes such as fecal impaction, diverticular disease, cancer.
The exact cause of
IBS is unknown. There seems to be an underlying abnormality with
bowel contractions. People with IBS may have more sensitive digestive
systems, responding to stimuli that would not bother most people. A
genetic component may be involved. In addition, recurrent abdominal
pains during childhood may predispose one to developing the disorder.
Regardless, the usual suspects must be taken into consideration.
These include poor dietary and lifestyle habits; lack of fiber,
emotional stress, food sensitivities, and imbalance of colon organisms. Candida / Candidiasis* Leaky Gut Syndrome: Candida is a Plague in America!!! At a recent seminar, Dr. Patrick Quillin, PhD, RD, CNS stated "Candidiasis is the most under-diagnosed medical condition in the country". Candida Albicans is a type of yeast-like fungus that inhabits the intestine, genital tract, mouth, and throat. Normally, this fungus lives in a healthy balance with the other bacteria and yeasts in the body; however, certain conditions can cause this fungus to multiply, weakening the immune system and causing an infection known as candidiasis. Because this fungus travels through the bloodstream to many parts of the body, various symptoms may develop. When this fungus infects the oral cavity is called thrush. White sores may form on the tongue, gums, and inside the cheeks. When the fungus infects the vagina, it results in vaginitis. The most common symptoms include a large amount of white, cheesy discharge and intense itching. Very often, allergies to foods are also present. Allergy testing is advised. Oral thrush, athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, and even diaper rash can develop as a result of food allergies and candida albicans. SEE: FUNGAL DEFENSE Because candidiasis can infect various parts of the body - the most common being the ears, nose, gastrointestinal tract, and bowels - it can also be characterized by many symptoms. SEE: PRIMAL DEFENSE These include constipation; diarrhea, colitis, abdominal pain, canker sores, persistent heartburn, muscle and joint pain, sore throat, congestion, nagging cough, numbing hands, legs, or face, tingling sensations, acne, vaginitis, kidney and bladder infections, arthritis, depression, hyperactivity, hypothyroidism, followed by adrenal problems, and even diabetes. Some afflicted with candidiasis may develop a sensitivity to the environment. Many cannot tolerate the smell of rubber, petroleum products, tobacco, exhaust fumes and chemical odors. Candidiasis affects both men and women; however, it is sometimes but rarely transmitted sexually. An infected mother may pass the fungal infection known as thrush to the newborn. Most often the baby's tongue will appear red and be covered with white spots that resemble milk spots. Thrush may also infect the baby's buttocks, appearing as a rash. Because there is no simple, accurate test, this infection is difficult to detect. Women diagnosed with a yeast infection should also be checked for diabetes. Because their vaginal environment is more conducive to the growth of yeast, diabetics are at a greater risk of contracting a yeast infection such as candidiasis. * Prescription for Nutritional Healing - James F. Balch, M.D & Phyllis A. Balch, C.N.C., 1990 CANDIDA: I recommend that you look at the information about PRIMAL DEFENSE to see if this product may be appropriate for your situation.
