JUICE WONDERS A young man named Gilbert ran up to me at one of my lectures and excitedly claimed that my book, I Have a Choice?, had saved his life. Since the book is loaded with immune-building information, I was a little concerned. He wasn't exactly the picture of health -- very overweight and pasty-faced; I hoped my advice hadn't caused him to look like that! Then he mentioned that he had full-blown AIDS -- ahh! I got the picture -- except that he sure didn't look like any of the AIDS patients I'd been working with, not at his weight. I asked to see his tongue, and immediately realized he had a bad case of candida. No wonder he was bloated and overweight -- he was fighting parasites and a heavy yeast infection. He asked me to work with him; he wanted advice him on the supplements he was taking -- 38 different things every single day! A bit much for his poor body to absorb and assimilate, I thought. My first concern was his diet, which was still atrocious, despite his having read my book. He ate mostly high-sugared, canned, preservative-filled, highly processed "stuff" -- junk food, devoid of any nutrition whatsoever. "You should have seen my diet before I read your book!" he said. Oh boy -- probably the only thing keeping him alive was the supplements I'd recommended in the book. He was spending almost every penny he had on his daily vitamin supplements. I had to get him to change over to a live-foods diet so he could cut back on the pills and get some of his nutrients from his food. I put him on a fresh vegetable-juicing regimen and made him eat only whole, unprocessed foods, with some added fiber greens. His health improved significantly. At the time I met him, Gilbert's T-cell count was 22. Using my regimen, he lost his bloat and stomach discomfort, and attained a nice, normal weight. His health, however, continued to go up and down. For example, despite taking high doses of specific antioxidants, he still had to be hospitalized with pneumonia. He also developed a severe allergic reaction to his roommate's flea-infested cats that caused his T-cell count, which had been alternately rising and falling during that first 1-1/2 years, to plummet literally down to 0. I really thought we were going to lose him at that point, because the T-cells -- A.K.A. immune cells or natural-killer cells -- are crucial for life. Without them, we cannot sustain life for long. Frustrated with this up-and-down syndrome, I discussed Noni Juice with him. It appeared to work homeopathically -- my favorite form of healing. I told him he'd probably be able to cut back on a lot of the expensive supplements he was taking. He agreed to give it a try. By the time Gilbert got his first bottle of NONI JUICE, his face and mouth were so covered with sores that he could barely move his lips; he dribbled when he tried to drink. When some of the juice fell on the sores around his mouth, the pain instantly ceased. He purposely dribbled some on the other sores -- lo and behold, they stopped hurting! Within days of drinking and rubbing/dribbling the NONI JUICE, the sores were healed. His lingering sinus condition started clearing up. His thinking became clearer, and his memory improved.
